or attach it in an email to summermusic@duq.edu

or fax to 412.396.5479.

Credits
One-week and two-week courses are valued at three undergraduate or graduate credits, except where indicated. Only two credits per course may be applied to the Master of Music in Music Education degree. Any course may be audited without credit; however, there is no tuition discount on audited courses. Courses can also be taken for continuing education units. Please contact the sponsoring institution for further information.

Act 48 Hours/Credits

Professional educators can receive Act 48 hours/credits for both credit courses and non-credit workshops. Teachers must request the submission of their Act 48 hours/credits to the PA Department of Education by registering at www.edulinkinc.com after the completion of a course. For non-credit workshops, the teacher must first contact Administrative Director, Kathy Ingold and additionally register online. For further information about obtaining Act 48 credit/hours, please call Anoush Tchakarian Sciallo at 412.396.6083.

Tuition/Fees/Payment
Tuition for all three-credit courses is $990. For some courses, a materials fee may be required, and students should be prepared to pay up to $50 for that fee on the first day of class. Because summer tuition is lower than it is during the fall or spring semesters, special rates and tuition reduction programs do not apply to summer session coursework. Payment for tuition can be made by check or money order. To use a Mastercard or Discover credit card, students must register at www.dori.duq.edu and follow the instructions for payment. A 2.55% interest rate will apply to all payments.

Registration/Deadline
Completed registration forms, including full tuition payment, should be postmarked at least 14 days prior to the course or workshop’s first day of class. Send registration and payment to Summer 2008, Mary Pappert School of Music, Duquesne University, 600 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15282-1800.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made through the Duquesne University Mary Pappert School of Music. Refunds of tuition, less a $50 fee per course, may be requested until noon, Eastern Daylight Savings Time, on the Thursday prior to the course or workshop’s first day of class. Any course cancellation made after this deadline will result in a forfeiture of full tuition. Duquesne University reserves the right to cancel any course if minimum enrollment is not reached 14 days prior to the first class session, in which case all deposits will be returned or applied to another course.

Parking
Parking fees are the responsibility of the student. Parking is available in the Forbes Avenue Garage. Weekly permits are also available. Call the parking office at 412.396.5267 for weekly rates. Rates have not been determined yet for the summer session. Parking rates are subject to change.
