Contemporary Ensemble

The Contemporary Ensemble, conducted by David Stock is a flexible ensemble of 15-20 musicians dedicated to studying and performing the music of our time.

Recent performances have included music by Michael Daugherty, Reza Vali, Richard Feliciano, Gerard Brophy and John Harbison, as well as classics by Ives, Copland, Blake, Milhaud and Lutoslawski. The Contemporary Ensemble has accepted several invitations to appear at prestigious national conferences sponsored by the Society of Composers and the College Music Society.

Electronic Chamber Music
Showcasing an eclectic mix of contemporary, classical and jazz fusion material, students perform on a variety of electronic instruments, including keyboards, electric violin and cello, wind and guitar controllers, electric bass and electronic mallet and percussion kits. Under the supervision of Lynn Purse, students have the opportunity to compose music and perform each other's own original compositions.
